Cult Clashed, Killed a Final Year Student

A final year student of the Department of Business Administration, Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, named Diete Rufus, has been murdered in Bayelsa State.

Diete Rufus was allegedly killed in a crossfire during a deadly armed clash involving two rival cult groups on Sunday 16th July, 2017.

The incident which claimed his life occurred in Okpotuwari and Ondewari communities, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The incident which caused panic, forced many residents to flee into the creeks and forest for safety. Meanwhile, three other members of the cult also sustained serious injuries in the incident.

Rufus who gave up the ghost on the way to the Hospital, was first rushed to Korokorosei hospital from where he was referred to Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa,

Information gathered pertaining the cause of the clash, revealed that, it could have been the result of alleged disagreement over the control of security of oil wells in the area, which had generated bitterness among the youths in recent times.
